Summertime Weather

Today has been a wonderfully warm and pleasant summer day -- one we haven't experienced very often on this trip.

We changed sites early in this morning and lucked out to get one open for 2 more days, probably because it is a non-electric site but we don't care. After a lazy morning we rode our bikes about 6 miles on a paved trail through a lush, green, shadowed and flowered forest. The pink lupine and white daisies are in full bloom, I tasted salmonberries and was awed by the many varieties of fern covering the forest floor. John, on the other hand, speeds ahead and has to stop and wait on me.

This afternoon we napped, we planned the next week or so of our trip and read books or magazines. John split wood and built me a great fire for the evening. This is what camping is all about!
