Stockholm

We said farewell to Mickey and David (again) and to Judy and Joanne (again) this morning as we all headed out in different directions. Our flight from Dublin to Stockholm was uneventful. From the airport we hopped on a fast train to city central. When I say fast I mean 200km/hr or 120mph!! The scenery really flew past!

A short cab ride got us to the Best Western where we have a great penthouse/ 5th floor view from a very very small room!  We took a walk around our neighborhood to kind of orient ourselves then had dinner at Nolen's Restaurant. We ate a traditional Swedish appetizer of reindeer with shaved horseradish, a bite of quiche, pickled herring and smoked salmon with a mustard sauce. John had Swedish meatballs and I had fish stew with Char, a fish that is a cousin to salmon. Wonderful first meal in Stockholm.

Now to plan our sightseeing for the next three days.
