This state park is HUGE. We saw a list for hiking trails that had over 25 named trails and that is not all. A volunteer told us that there is over 500 miles of dirt roads in the park, some easy and some very, very hard. We walked a little over a mile to the visitor center and then there is a 3 mile round trip trail out of our campground. It leads up to a grove of palm trees and a waterfall. We had to do some rock climbing to find what we thought was the water fall but not really sure since it didn't have much water.
We got to video chat with our grandson's and their parents today. It was so good to see them all even if the connection was not the best. We also rode our bikes into Borrego Springs since it is only about 3 miles from the campground. This is a very touristy place and has lots of RV parks and hotels. We also saw lots of jeeps.
It was a perfect evening for a campfire but we are really pooped and won't stay up late.
